Sample playlist

“Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here!” -Albus Dumbledore (from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)

It is hard for me to describe my musical tastes because I like more than one musical genre. Musicals/Broadway songs make me happy, old country makes me nostalgic, rockabilly electrifies any mood of mine, classical tunes calm my mind, rap music teases my brain, and classic rock induces all of the above. Despite the spectrum of my tastes, I don't consider myself a music afficionado. My siblings tend to be more enthused and knowledgeable about their favorite genres and bands. I simply let the magic wash over me.

Here are a few songs/artists on my current playlists:

Irene Diaz-- I LOVE her voice, the lyrics to her songs, the abrupt musical changes

I can't get enough of this song as well... It's beautiful.

FUN.--I have always enjoyed the artist that is Nate Ruess, lead singer and songwriter to the band FUN. I attended many concerts in Arizona when he was in the band, The Format. I am glad others can now enjoy his genius.

Frank Turner-- Love the lyrics. Love the tune. Love the rest of his work.

Amos Lee-- This guy blows my mind with his lyrics. He is the master bard.

To prove my point, here is another song...

Janelle Monae-- Unique, therefore empowering.
